Well, the day is finally here. It’s the beginning of my long awaited bike tour in Tuscany, Italy. I start my tour in Marina Di Massa, where I’m joined by a lovely couple called Giancarlo & Christina, who were kind enough to drive me all the way from the Milano Airport to Massa. They join me on the first day, but after a couple of hours we go our separeate ways. I carry on toward the ancient town Lucca, with it’s impressive 4,2 km long city wall, that has been turned in to a cycle path. And finally I end the day in Pisa, with a view of the famous leaning tower.

    1. Great first day Mike , some great bike infrastructure in some of the towns . I'm glad you managed to get pitched for the night as that would have been a mare looking for somewhere else . TFS atb Dave

    2. Thank you for sharing your trip with us Mike. This was just wonderful. I appreciate the work you put into these and that you speak in English (so articulately). I went to Pisa 20 years ago but somehow did not notice you can walk around the wall on top 😬 You made me want to have a gelato and glass of vino. Looking forward to part 2. If you recorded 15 hours you must have about 30 episodes. It’s awful that those restaurants have all the beach space. It’s the same along most of the coast.

    3. Your hosts were such nice people. How fortunate for you. The streets look so narrow but everything is so beautiful and it's very cool to see the Leaning Tower in person. This looks like it's going to be a wonderful trip.

    4. Mike, I'm very sorry to tell you the Italy is no more a good place to live. The Italian constitution was completely destroyed by corrupt goverment/media. Of course I'm tell you about the nazi green pass obbligatory. The most of the population here is sleeping, but we are in war to restabilishe the costitutuzional and human rights…

    5. Good to see you back. I am amazed to see you Europeans traveling by bike with a lot of safety and comfort from the campsites that exist everywhere. Here in Brazil we do not have infrastructure for cyclists, just as there are almost no campsites or bike paths, which makes my trips quite dangerous and expensive for having to stay in hotels … I dream of a day riding around, especially in Italy. Good trip, I'm here always following.

    6. Beautiful video Mikael, it was a pleasure to ride with you and a personal satisfaction to see you happy with our company and the places you have seen, sure that you will take with you a good memory of us and our country

    7. Thank you for sharing Mike, That was great video and it has convinced me to follow in your tracks and do my own cycle tour in Italy next year. I may tro to do it in May/June and watch some of the Giro d'Italia as well.

    8. Once again I'm watching your videos while relaxing in my tent. Seems to be a tradition during my bike backing and bicycle touring trips … Thanks for sharing your experience and adventure in Italy. I haven't visited Pisa for 20 years now. And it would be nice to cycle in Italy.

    9. Thanks Mike. I've cycled across Tuscany from Pisa to Perugia in Umbria and so it is great that you are covering some of the sites. It is pretty hard terrain continually climbing and then losing height to have to climb again. Thanks for showing the lovely Lucca. Your hosts were fantastic. I look forward to your next films and hope that you are going to both Florence and also Siena (and perhaps San Gimignano.

    10. Thanks for yet another great video of your adventures.
Do you have any hacks for flying with your bike into one location and out of a different one without having to carry an expensive plane bike bag?
