We love bike touring Romania! We were following the Eurovelo 6 route from Croatia as it snaked alongside the Danube river, through Serbia and into Romania.
Lili and is originally from Romania and so we’d been together before but this was the first time by bicycle. I was absolutely loveing it. The food is great, the beer is cheap and cycling is easy.
I was a bit freaked out to see the statue of King Decebal but it’s really worth visiting that part of the country if you ever get a chance. We had a great first week, making our way to part of hte Carpathian mountiains, then coming down into the flatter central region. Some of the cities like Targa Jiu and Ramincu Valcea are a bit rubbish to be honest. There’s a general stank in the area and it all just feels pretty chaotic. I didn’t think the cities had much appeal to be honest which I know sounds harsh and we were only there for a few days so no real strong judgments here. I did of course like the Infintiy column in Targa Jiu.
We also got our first proper chase by some farm dogs! Absolutely terrifying but something we’d grow accustomed to as the trip went on, especially in Bulgaria. The trick is to just try to ignore the dogs and maybe shoot water at them if you want them to get a bit distracted.

The "But then I had an ice cream" bit made my inner child melt with happiness. Thank you. Can't wait for the next couple of videos!
“Merry Christmas” hahaha that’s great.
Please tell me how I can invest!?
Currently researching for a bike tour across Romania and this is really helpful, so thanks for your impressions of this country!
I realize you did your trip in 2018. Have you been to Romania ever since? Any idea what or how much has changed since?
that "cooking fuel" is used as disinfectant alcohol in romania. That brand used to be a meme because stories about people filtering Mona through bread and drinking it spread around:) Nice video! Hope you liked Romania!
