Cycle touring for 9 weeks through parts of Europe – Let the fun begin! Week 1

We were booked to go on this bike tour for spring of 2020 which was postponed due to the pandemic. Finally we were able to go in August 2023.

We had 9 weeks to cycle in parts of Belgium, Germany and France (and a little detour into the Netherlands) for over 2300 kms. We flew into Paris where Rob assembled the bikes and we then took a Flix bus to Lille where we started the tour.

We were immediately struck by how kind the Belgium people are, how many cycling paths there are to choose from and how addictive the bakeries can be.
