This is day 10 of our tandem bicycle adventure through the Route of the Grand Alps. We had now climbed over 50,000 feet in 9 days. We woke up in the charming town of St. Martin-Vesubie, France and headed for the Col de Turini hoping to stay in Sospel, France that night. The Col de Turini was another welcome respite from the traffic, and the Mediterranean side was amazing with its rally car historic switchbacks. Something we definitely love. We intended to stay in Sospel, but still without a cell phone (since day 1!) we were unable to make advance reservations. When we got there, there was no place to stay. So on we pushed on further up the Col de Castillon and made for Menton, France which is the official end of the Route des Grandes Alpes (with the traditional end of Nice still as our end goal). 48 miles and 4,800 feet later and we were there! Come along with us on our journey through amazing landscapes, historic sites and beautiful vistas. ~11 minutes
