Regensburg is located at the Danube’s northernmost point, in between the Gäuboden region and the two low mountain ranges Fränkische Jura and Bayerischer Wald. The two business incubators BioPark and TechBase, along with numerous research and development facilities, are part of a comprehensive politico-economic strategy. In total 33,000 students are enrolled in our three colleges. The university medical center is able to provide tertiary care.

Countless recreational facilities offer indoor and outdoor activities for singles or the whole family. The city is home to a diverse cultural hub, hosting traditional events, as well as internationally renowned ones. Numerous museums of various kinds, a multi-genre theater and much more are located in and around Regensburg.

Well-known professional sports clubs and appealing amateur sports organizations offer amongst other activities: alpine sports, American football, badminton, baseball, cycling, football, golf, hockey, laser tag, rugby, tennis, track and field.
