THIS EPISODE, Kromidovo (nr Petric) Bulgaria to Dospat, Bulgaria via Dabnitsa.
Camping Kromidovo – see previous video
Dabnitsa – Spa Hotel Ivelia. Clean, friendly. Average service and poor food (very local, no english, but this can’t be expected when this remote). Nice sauna and steam! 7/10 €25
Dospat – Family Hotel Badzho. Cosy and small with fridge but no mod cons. Very poor wifi etc, but again, very remote. Dospat overall was a disappointment. No viewpoint of the lake. If you want this, go for a high up hotel. Cheap €16. Good bakery on ground floor, ideal for buying burek, snacks and to top up your thermos with coffee.
Another difficult, undulating mountainous few days but so much to see. 110km or so over 2 days, but still with the hills, meant full days riding.

8-10% of the population of Bulgaria are muslims. Most of them live in the Rhodope mountains. So you see so many mosques around the border with Greece. There are villages where practically no bulgarians. Only turks.
I have to ask… Diarrhea?
Cool Screw Bro
You seem to have been very unlikely with failed components. Not exactly a great endorsement of the Fuji bike, though I did notice the max tension torque printed on the side of the seat post lock. Hope this is the last one. By the way did you replace the pedal and chain?
Are you from near Teignmouth? I think I know the part you are taking about.
What a trip and what a lovely couple . x
Ohh, that's my grandmother campsite
Great Achievement Mat and Harriet!!! And well made videos by you. I recently bought a new bike. And have become addicted to cycling…. For me, nothing beats it… I will be watching the rest of your EV13, in the next few days. Cheers.
“Suspicious meat”. My favorite line from the whole video!
