If you can take someone else's bike then someone can take your bike. That would work only if you rented a bike not personal bikes.😅
10 years ago when I lived in China for a while all big apartment buildings had these. With full time attendants! Not sure if they still have them. At the time the big problem was bikes were so cheap in China that when people moved out they left the bikes behind in the lot… A lot of the bikes in those lots were covered in dust and clearly hadn't been ridden for months. But it was a great system if you used a bike regularly.
