So far on my bikepacking trip toward the North Cape I have been extremely lucky with the weather. But all that was about to change. As I was about to start the toughest day on the whole trip with about 1500 meters of elevation I felt the first drops of rain. And it was about to get worse. A lot worse…

I wish all the campgrounds had a cozy kitchen like that!
Another great ride and some serious climbing. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
A lot of tunnels are closed to pedestrian and cyclists. In particular, ALL undersea tunnels are closed for pedestrians and cyclists. This is because of safety concerns.
Some of the bypass roads for other tunnels were closed for car traffic because they're too dangerous for them.(tight bends and poor visibility), but some were closed because of danger of rockslides. Just so that you're aware. If You see deep marks in the asphalt, it's caused by rocks falling on the road. This is a very big 'no stopping' warning.
For some of the undersea tunnels the regular busses will be able to help a cyclist get through. Some even have a bike carrier on the back.
You REALLY shouldn't have opened that toilet on that rest stop, but if you needed to get out of the weather(Hypothermia is nasty)you do what you need to. You really should have called the VTS(Road Traffic Central) on 175 or whoever is contracted to maintain it if there's a number posted, and alerted them to an unlocked restroom.
That restroom is most probably closed 'off season' (probably doesn't open until june or something) and there won't be anyone checking it regularly, so there's a very real danger that someone might mess it up. Just imagine some moron doing a number one all over the floor and it's left there to soak into the floor for weeks.
Those walls doesn't stop the snow from sliding down the hill, they're mostly wind breaks to stop the wind from piling up snow.
Dump that junk tent. The design results in the inner tent getting completely soaked while you're erecting it if it's raining.
You want a proper Tunnel tent, something like this;
https://www.fjallraven.com/no/no/vesker-utstyr/telt-soverposer/telt/abisko-shape-2?v=F53202%3a%3a7323450206864
I have an older Fjellräven Akka Shape tent, and it can be erected even during a storm(not that I'd recommend anyone to try it unless they have to) and the inner tent is connected to the outer wall and rolled up with it. Unless you erect it in the middle of a fjord, the inner tent does not get wet.
If you're on top of a mountain pass and the weather turns nasty you want a tent that can keep you dry.
I have the same drone as you, even the 'Fly More' package, but I've swapped the original rotors for a set made of carbon fiber. It's supposed to get you 3dB less noise and 3minutes longer flight time.
Epic ride on those climbs in such poor conditions. When the mist clears it looks beautiful.
Very hand those multi-tools, you put it to good use in accessing the toilet, well done. In that weather I don't think anyone except you would want to get in.
Thanks for sharing a nice video, I'm looking forward to seeing the next.
Mike, you are one tough cookie. Thanks for the video. I hope you are rewarded with palm trees this summer.
That was a beutifull but hard ride, thanks mike for showing us your adventures.
Good job Mike. I’m really enjoying this journey.
Again, you are a braver man than I am. Would have stopped at the first sign of rain and book a hotel.. Good to see perseverance pays off though, see you next week!
Hard trip, climbing like that, it is not my favorite as I am on the heavy side. But I admire you and thank you for sharing your trip.
Absolutely beautiful countryside you’re riding through! You’ve got incredible stamina, I thoroughly enjoy your videos! 👍🚲
Great to watch, as always.
beautiful scenery and so peaceful, thanks Mike
Many thanks again Mike – great ride, even if it was at times ‘character building’ 😅
👌👌👍👍❤❤
Brings back memories 🤗 love Norway 🇳🇴
Beautiful and tough though. Thank you for your great vids and the inspiration that comes with it!👏🙏
He reminds me of UK politician Matt Hancock.
Hej! Är du nöjd med tältet? Letar tält för framtida Bikepacking turer och såg att du använder Nature hike cloud 2. Det verkar väldigt prisvärt.
Love your videos. Such beautiful scenery and countryside. Thanks for sharing this with us 🙂
Hej Micke
Hey Mike, whats up? Missing your Videos 😊
Beautiful. Your a machine those miles and climes. Impressive. Thanks for sharing this with us.
We have really enjoyed your Norway videos and are really considering a similar trip, but staying in hotels. Do you know of any companies you would recommend for setting up such a trip? Are you still working on the final couple of days? BTW I believe we watched a Bike Touring Pro video some years ago which you were in for the first part of the tour. Also, we are enjoying watching yours and VanDuzers versions of the Sweden ride.
Wow what an amazing journey, thanks for taking us along..cycling Northern Norway is on my bucket list.
