So incredibly stoked to find this Trek District Carbon / Belt drive!
It’s setup with 55×22 gearing and 25c tires currently. It’s a 2011, so designed before the larger tire sizes became popular.
In an effort to fit at least 28c or larger, I’m trying to determine if I can either get a slightly longer Gates belt and/or get a smaller front chainring to pull the wheel to its rearmost position.
Currently, 28c will rub the frame but I can get about 2cm clearance if I pull the wheel back.
The tire width doesn’t seem to be an issue, it’s more the vertical height.
If anyone has tried this, please let me know! Thanks.

No idea, because I’ve never seen this bike before, but that’s a sweet bike! I bet it’s silent and smooth – enjoy!

There’s a few calculators on the gates site that might help you figure out exactl belt size and what ring options you can run.

  3. I ended up keeping the 55×22 and adjusting to SS riding. Gates was great, even sent another chainring but holding off as I seem to be doing pretty well with this ratio.
The 25c isn’t terrible, although some 28s would be great, I’m really enjoying it.
