Deep in the mountains on the western coastline of Norway, legend has it that trolls roam the Trollstigen by night turning to stone if hit by sunlight. I’d experienced this climb once before, on a dark wintry day, continually watching my back with senses on high alert for every unknown rustle at the side of the road.
Today was a different story, the early cloud burning through to reveal the road in all its splendour. I’ve been fortunate enough to ride many mountains over the years but there were moments during this climb that took me to a completely different world, where the tiniest touch of water on your skin makes you feel so alive, reminding you how the power of nature and the great outdoors is the answer to every question. I still get that same feeling when I watch these moments, I hope you do too, and one day you can experience the pure beauty of the Stigfossen waterfall and Trollstigen as I was lucky enough to do so.

So very glad you did this climb Mike, been one i've wanted to see more of for so long now especially past the viewing point, and can't see getting to Norway in the near future. Beautifully shot, absolutely gorgeous, many thanks again.

Freaking love the vid…as usual. Yet another road to stir up my envy.
Another great piece of cycling documentary. Awesome scenario!!
Another great cycling adventure! There is no better way to see the world then through the eyes of a cyclist!
What a ride, Mike! Incredible what you show us each time 😉 Thanks!!!!
I bet it took 3 months to film it. 1 day shooting and 89 days waiting for the sun shine XD
Norway is wonderful for cycling. Just bring clothes for 4 seasons because you never know what weather you may end up in.
Great video Mike, thanks so much for your work. It's always worth the wait.

these are incredible!!! I'd love to see the descent that goes along with it.
Breath taking views Mike, I loved it!
great start indeed. great videos guys 🙂 glat o follow you. big motivation also
Another great video Mike, many thanks. Forget the scenery – that road surface looks amazing for such a hostile environment!
I stayed on Trollstigen on summer 2015, I never forget the amazing views of this place, driving with waterfalls on the side…Thanks Mike for this videos, I feel very very good and happy when you publish it.
I immediatly thought about your video seeing this one: https://youtu.be/-ofGq4usOtY . I discovered your channel recently and absolutely love it (and so does my wife who isn't even a cyclist), I just booked a summer holidays in Briancon to ride Agnel, Izoard and Bonette, all thanks to the inpiration of your channel (well, I already was planning to go there, but after seeing your vids a couple of years earlier). Thanks for all the great work!
amazing video, Mike – Norway simply stunning … great work
wow, that scenery was amazing! Another great feature.
This! Great stuff!
I´m in love with these landscapes!!
And Norway just won all those medals at the 2018 winter olympics in PyeongChang.
Superb. Makes an old man feel almost young again. No tarmack and practically no traffic in August 1965!
I rode this yesterday based on this video of yours! Thank you and your team for putting it together! There was a bit less snow, and the amount of tourist traffic was fairly heavy, but that didn't detract from the spectacular beauty one single bit. Next time, I'll start at the bottom and ride up, instead of descending first, then turning around and heading back up. Again, thanks for this inspirational ride!
@ 5:18 it is mentioned, that you see the Troll Wall up to the left. This is not correct. You can't see the Troll Wall from the Trollstigen road. The Troll Wall faces east towards the next valley Romsdalen. What you see up to the left @ 5:18 is the western side of the ridge, where the Troll Wall is on the other side. Apart from that a beautiful video as always.
no words to express
That’s my kind of internet troll. Magnificent
This is just beautiful! What a scenery! Made my day today.
Wow THANKS FOR SHARING IM WATCHING FROM PHILIPPINES 👏👏👏😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hey Mike. Could you please let me know how you travelled to Trollstigen, and where you stayed? Cheers 🙂
