A 20 mile (32km) bike ride from Haarlem through the dunes to Bloemendaal Beach, Zandvoort and back to Haarlem. The dunes along the Dutch coast are beautiful for cycling, especially on a bright summer day. Away from all motor traffic cycling is simply fun!

    1. Oh, dat kan, ik huur niet vaak fietsen, maar de laatste keer dat ik een fiets huurde (op Ameland) was er wel een redelijk gemengd aanbod.

    2. All I could do a 2:07 was shake my head at the bike parking! Why can't all countries do that.
Yesterday I went shopping and every place I went I had to search-out something to lock my bike onto. Most of the time it was just prop the bike up against the window of the shop, or lock it to the trolly park of that store.

    3. We spent 11 days around Holland in July this year …. near Rockanje … Vaasen … Callantstoog and Noordwijkerhout and was our 2nd trip there because we love your cycling culture and cycle routes. I only wish we had the space to do this in the UK : (

    4. Love this.  See American videos on cycling to the beach, and it's all a bunch of people tricked out in Lycra and the lightest road bikes.  Here, people are in regular clothes, no helmets, and riding heavy Dutch bikes.  I prefer the Dutch way.
