    1. Hi, this nothing to do about transfers, but about something Patrick was talking about on the Echelon.
My suggestion regarding better Grand Tour events and a possible leveling of teams competitiveness.
Watching the Skoda Luxembourg race, with 6 riders per team, it seems like going from 8 to 7 rider teams, achieves 2 things, reduces the strength of the top teams like TJV just making every stage a very hard pace, and allowing teams with smaller budgets to bring better riders to be able to compete.
The second change, is that each team is allowed to designate 2 riders (alternates) that can be selected to add to their squads on rest days only to fill in for riders who DNF from injury prior to rest days. Only 1 rider can be added per rest day (not before), and they must be one of the 2 predesignated alternates. So in 2023, Ineos lost several riders, and Jayco lost over half their team. One caveat, alternate riders can take points (KOM, or Sprints), but can not take any awards.
      My 2 cents, cheers!

    2. Happy to see Sivakov moving on. There've been so many moments when he felt like Ineos' strongest card to play but was never given that role. Hope that Team UAE gives him more freedom if he wants it. Also feels like we are witnessing a significant shift in super-team tactics. From the old single-leader strategy for stage races to a two or even three-leader strategy. I like seeing these teams being more creative and less predictable with their tactics. Though much more challenging to balance riders' personal ambitions with that of the team.

    3. Matteo Jorgenson is a rider who has shown great promise. Going to Jumbo VIsma will give him a wonderful opportunity to reach his full potential. I am very happy for Matteo.

    4. TJV still has Affini and Van Baarle, but I am curious to see if TJV will contract a new pacer / powerhouse now that Van Emden, Dennis, Roosen and Van Hooijdonk are leaving….dutchman Sjoerd Bax might be a welcome addition, but not likely to leave UAE.

    5. Most significant transfer is Van Hoydonck to "retired". When the cocktail TJV causes these problems, not for everyone, riders better start asking questions. In the last month TJV lost one rider who got popped and one rider who "got lucky". Could have happen during a race, like Cobrelli!

    6. Sam Bennett was only 3 years ago the fastest man on two wheels in the world. He's had rotten luck with injuries and his shoddy treatment at bora. Surely he's worth a punt by some WT team? It was rumoured he was transferring to AG2R but that hasn't been confirmed?

    7. JVs move for Jurgensonbis brilliant site he is clearly future GC potential and a good addition for the classics . The team now has 3 tour GC riders but Roglic has a only a couple of years left at that level but enough to allow Matteo to transition in . JV just played to ensure future dominance. Great for Matteo joining the best team in the world

    8. As a Norwegian, I'm pleased to see Uno-X making inroads to bolster their team. Magnus Cort joining is VERY exciting indeed. But where will Sepp Kuss transfer to for 2024? 😝

    9. Wait till you see Sepp Kuss join UAE in support of Pogacar. Team loyalty was an issue for TJV. How can you not feel that he was betrayed by Primoz and Vin with their attacks on Sepp. You defend the race leader, not attack your own teammate.
