On the final day of this trip, we head to Mo i Rana to take the long train journey back to Oslo. However, we have time to cycle one last road and oh boy, is it a good one! Melfjordbotn is one of the loneliest roads in Norway and can only be reached by boat for 7 months a year. Luckily, the road has just opened for the summer season, and I got to experience something exceptional.

About the Series: In early May 2023, I set off to document Norway’s most famous long-distance route. The Atlantic coast, which is part of the Eurovelo 1, is perhaps the most spectacular coastline in the world. This 6 episode series will take you beyond what you may have seen on YouTube before. We pull out all the stops to capture this unique area in all its wonder and beauty.

  1. I was in Norway in 2002 and fell in Love with it. Since that time I always wanted to go back to see and feel the Norway again. And in Your videos I see places I have seen and places I would like to see. Your videos remind me that I want to go and visit Norway again and why I want to do that. So huge thank You for you videos and what are you doing in you cahnnel 🙂

  2. I can absolutely confirm that it's worth a detour if you are in the area. Did it in June 2017 in perfect warm weather with lots of snow in the mountains. I believe there are 5 people living in Melfjordbotn (!)

  3. Nice wizard! And you looked a bit knackered at the end and no doubt. Bet that train ride and putting feet up was amazing in a warm spot. Love what you show and share as always.

  4. The worst part about watching Cycle Norway videos is I have to wait for the next one. The good part is you can't just watch them once as there's to much to take in.
    – great job as always and great work Wizard 👍

  5. Fantastic video. Watching your videos has put the Norwegian Atlantic Coast firmly on my bucket list. What approach do you take with tires in these marginal conditions? I live in Finland and I’ve had a few black ice wipeouts in the autumn and spring. So if there is risk of ice I will have studded tires. But I am guessing you had regular road tires on. Any nervous moments on the descents? 😉

  6. Absolutely brilliant series of films. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Great research for my own trip to Norway next year. Thank you. Just one thing! I could barely hear you under the over-music. It's too loud. Please consider reducing its volume when you edit. Looking forward to using your website and seeing more of your films.

  7. Recently found your videos and we are working through them. Coming to Norway next year and looking to get some cycling in. Great info, thanks

  8. Thank you for bringing us along. Norway is on my bucket list for sure. We'll be in Bergen next May, but only for a couple of days and I won't have a bike with me, but I'm sure a return trip, with my bike, is in order.
