One day and 50 km biking tour compressed into 6 minutes. I planned the route with gpsies.com and a variety of different maps. Still I needed to improvise a lot because of closed fences and to get across big roads. Towards the end I also needed to ride along some bigger roads to make it back before dark.
Conclusion: Malta is a beautiful place and you can see a lot by bike, but it is not very bike-friendly with too many cars packed on a small area. Definitely it does not seem like an ideal place for mountain or trail biking. At least I could not find that many nice trails to ride, but I really don’t know the place and I didn’t have a local guide.
You can find the GPS track of my tour:

The route roughly:
The Cyclist bike shop – Blue Grotto – Dingli Cliffs – Mdina – The Cyclist

Just back from 2 weeks in Malta and about 200km of cycling. This video is a perfect illustration of what it is like.
