This video describes how to use the Fietsknoop (pronounced “feets – kuh – nope“), or “Bike Node” in English, in the Netherlands. The system includes numbered signs that are located throughout the country and an App or Website that can be used to easily plan your biking route.
Two good reasons for using the Fietsknoop Bike Node system to plan your bike routes when visiting the Netherlands include:
1. The numbered system generally follows interesting bike routes, compared to Google Maps, which will choose the shortest route and you may end up riding alongside highways or through industrial zones.
2. The Fietsknoop system allows you to easily explore outside of Amsterdam and through the scenic Dutch countryside.
