Another likely sprint day as the peloton heads to Naples on stage 6. It’s a 162.2km out-and-back route around Mount Vesuvius, taking on two categorised climbs – Valico di Chiunzi (cat. 2) and Picco Sant’Angelo (cat. 3) – before a long and mostly flat run-in along the coast to the finish in Napoli.

    1. All that work and they blew it with 200meters to go. They preferred to see both of them go empty-handed rather than see one of them win at the others expense.

    2. Great riding from the breakaway duo.shame they got caught. Sprinters getting the glory but add nothing overall to the days racing.

    3. Classy surrender by the last two, see then commiserating together in the final metres… The peleton is a hungry machine that shows no mercy.

    4. 2 lads in the breakaway should’ve made a gentleman’s agreement to work until the last few 100m or at some point go side by side and dual it out etc. Too busy being selfish and immature. Better to get a heroic 2nd place to a superior kick after an all day breakaway than to petty spite yourselves and loose a guaranteed podium right at the finish.

    5. Jayco Alula seems to specialise in looking good at the front, only to disappear when it comes to the finish. The break deserved what they got: so close to the line you don't faff about. Riders of their quality should know that by now, one would think.

    6. It was daft of Clarke and De Marchi to attack Quarterman on the climb, they needed a rouleur on the run in and no better rider than Quaterman to do big pulls. Caught at 200 meters !

    7. Thanks for keeping these titles and thumbnails spoiler-free guys. Would have been even more tense if Eurosport's version hadn't shown up on my feed first and spoiled the result before I even clicked…

    8. "Watch every km on GCN+" unless you happen to be in New Zealand, in which case you're stuffed and can only see the brief highlights on Youtube.

    9. The best thing about these highlights is FINALLY hearing some british voice pronouncing non-english names properly. Sadly rare, but even more appreciated because of that.

    10. Why are some Eurosport/gcn commentators so negative against anything from Belgium? 😂 Sounds like a salty bunch with moments. You might not like Remco… that's not a reason to disrespect a country and anything coming from it.

Does not motivatie me to subscribe for next year. Only the classics previews are worth it so far.
