    1. Miholjevič said he attacked to give tribute to these streets. He is from Rijeka, so practically, he grew up there. It has been quite a pleasure to watch this stage for me, too, I live very close by. I was actually swimming on a nearby beach when the peloton rushed by us. 🙂

    2. I'm easily amused, but I always get a chuckle when Lanterne Rouge says "Little Trek." "And if Little Trek send it they start to make the race harder…" Sadly, Little Trek's were too small for the men. Maybe next time!

    3. Ineos being ineos and gaining nothing, I really don't know what is going on with the whole team. In a matter of a few years they switched from being one of the top teams to being the shadow of themselves. If you look at their victories this year we have, Strade Bianche by Pidcock, 2 stages in TdF of which one came from luck (still great performance from Carlos Rodriguez but Pogi and Jonas let him go), Pippo Ganna win in a time trial at the Vuelta, a second place on Giro d'Italia, with no stage wins. And then? Nothing relevant, how did it happen?
Of course the incident of Bernal changed everything but he is not responsible for the bad quality of the strategies of the team.
To me, only the merge with Quickstep could save the team.

Anyway cheers for my fellow countrymen for his first win! Very nice to see a paid off for the Q36.5 team efforts

    4. Most technical – no incident.
Least technical (TdF stage 4, on the motorcycle race track) – mass crashes.

Not only a single observation, but something I have noticed many times.
Technical finales spread out the bunch, and leads to less congestion, compared to easier ones.

    5. That was a fun finale to watch. You didn't know who was going to win it right until the end, and it was great seeing Q36.5 getting a win. Congratulations on 250k, Patrick! You're one of the best!

    6. Ineos often just pulls at the front, and then doesn't place anyone in the top 10. For years in big one day races they have pulled hard at the front pulling back break aways, and then… nothing. Their best lead out ever was Thomas leading out Cavendish this year. Looking at the teams, Ineos should have been be able to control this race. Maybe they are just teaching their young riders to work at the front. Their young riders did not seem to get any better this year. They may need to become a spring train in the future. Hayter, Tarling, Sheffield, Ganna, <<missing tier 1 level sprinter>> could win 3/4 Tour stages as a lead out train. Van der Poel would not be able to mess with Ganna as last person in the line.
