The new volcanic eruption started in Iceland today on August 3, 2022 at Meradalir Valley, Reykjanes Peninsula. And we went to film it. Tough hike though. 2 hours walk one way, through very rough terrain. The new fissure emitting 5-10 times more as compared to 2021 volcano start more than a year ago.

You could fall into an old lava tube…that stuff happens in Hawaii more often than you may think…..not pretty!
I noticed there was smoke coming from cracks in the area people were crossing over last year's lava… I'm hoping that is from lava that is still cooling from that eruption and not a portent of things to come!
OH I am so happy you wont be biking on the lava today. I don't think my heart could handle that haha! Daring young people. Do be careful, god keep your wits sharp, and your feet steady.

Cycling over lava? Not only is it dangerous but I'd gather it would be quite painful and they don't seem to be travelling very far either. Just too lazy to walk I suppose.🇦🇺🕊

Lava that isn't even melting the rubber tires isn't very hot …. and they seem to be sticking to the periphery
They obviously lacking common sense. Think they are being clever but what happens if they fall into a lava tube !! Why do people spoil it for others by being stupid !! Take care. Avoid breathing in the gases. Keep safe God bkess
