Nations Ride

How many countries can I visit in one ride?
Cycling from Sargans to Rorschach in Switzerland and visiting some of our neighbouring countries.
In this video, I continue riding the Swiss Cycle Route 9 (Seen-Route) from Sargans, where I stop the last video, to Rorschach, where the last stage of this route finishes.
Only 3 km after Sargans Train Station, the route starts to follow the Rhine River, with small detours to visit some charming towns, and basically goes to its delta before starting to follow the shores of Lake Constance (Bodensee). I also took some additional detours from Route 9 to visit Vaduz in Liechtenstein and after the delta, to visit Bregenz in Austria and Lindau in Germany.
The cycling paths of Route 9 on these last 2 segments are very well maintained and provides a pleasant ride for everyone, during weekends it is busy, but not overcrowded. It could be better signalized, especially near cities where it can get confusing, although most cyclists are using GPS anyway.
The Austrian and German segments I took were very busy, as expected during a such warm weekend, everybody wants to enjoy the lake shores to ride, walk and swim and the area attracts hoards of tourists.
In conclusion, this cycling journey along the final stages of the Swiss Cycle Route 9 was a captivating experience, featuring stunning scenery, beautiful landscapes, charming towns, and delightful detours into neighbouring countries. Despite occasional crowds, the region’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities are undeniable, making it a rewarding cycling destination. Exploring this part of Switzerland, riding along the Rhine River and Lake Constance on two wheels was an enriching experience, and the route’s scenic beauty made a memorable ride.
