    Cycling England to Wales: Challenge Accepted ⛰ Bicycle Touring UK



    When asking a farmer to camp on his land we get to enjoy some fantastic stories about the history of the place. From ancient Roman gold coins being stolen to ghost haunted dwellings on the property. Just before entering Wales we are recognised by another cycling couple. They kindly invite us to come and spend the night at their cosy place. The weather is typically moody and creates a dramatic atmosphere with the decaying remnants of the industrial revolution we come across in the landscape. The Old Roman road we climb up through the Brecon Beacons turns out to be a seriously tough challenge and we are rewarded with an incredible campsite overlooking the endless rolling countryside below 🙂

      We just finished a 1,600-mile tour. A couple of scenes from this video (e.g., pushing loaded bicycles up a steep, rocky incline) brought back "fond" memories! Keep up your incredible adventures!

Hey, you're in my back yard now. I can see them from where I live and have explored that area a number of times since I was a youth. Could I add that if you finish your journey in Edinburgh you will be missing some of the best scenery that Scotland has to offer in the Scottish Highlands which is truly stunning…. Ride safe

      You guys (girl included) keep on amazing me for being so determined on pathways which seems impossible to conquer by bike. But every time you two make me smile when you walk up the steep path and descend the bumpy road (??) downward. Big compliments for you.
