Croatia’s long and uneven coastline is punctuated by islands of notorious beauty. EuroVelo 8 takes you through the nature and visits many locations listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as Dubrovnik and Split. Large parts of EuroVelo 8 pass directly along the coast, and the most attractive parts in the hinterland through the virgin areas of the most beautiful Croatian mountain and UNESCO biosphere reserve Velebit.

I've taken parts of this route in Croatia and it was horrible. Many, many km right beside the cars on very busy roads with nothing foreseen for cyclists, no space beside the car lanes, so you ride on the white paint on the ground, hoping not to be hit. I loved everything about Croatia and want to go back with my bike again, but definitely not following this route. Wonderful people, country, food, beaches, music… just the route isn't good. Croatia is paradise.
Fiz a Croacia de Norte para Sul no fim da primavera, sempre na estrada da costa do mar Báltico, Espetacular.
