We didn’t know Spain could be so cold! Following the EuroVelo1 and later EuroVelo 3 on the traditional Camino Frances towards Santiago de Compostela and we were faced by temperatures of ~ 5°C in July! Definitely not what we expected, especially since the weeks prior were extremely hot. We had to toss the idea of sleeping in the tent and went for pilgrims hostels instead, but the experience was rather….special…..

  1. Really felt for you there when you were cold, tired and quite down looking for somewhere to camp. Glad you found somewhere in the end 😊 Keep the video's coming they are fantastic!

  2. You will get into the routine of getting enough dinner and breakfast food and water, (including shower water) and then looking for a place to camp. You can always pour the shower water out if you decide you don't need it. I am so glad to see that I am not the only one that does not like spending a lot on accommodations.

  3. You picked one of the worst albergues along the Camino for your first experience, I hope it didn’t put you off trying others along the way

  4. Hey Alex, whats pretty girls name? You're riding at a reasonable altitude, so no wonder you feel cold. Make sure you are dressed for the weather and try to be happy by singing? haha. Thanks, and take care.

  5. Love the honesty. I'm the same – I've stayed at holiday parks and freedom camps (the NZ term for wild camping), and I sometimes find the freedom camps better than the holiday parks in NZ. And they're free 😃 I started making vlogs about the freedom camps in case others want to stay there, but I've only made about five freedom camp vlogs so far.

  6. scappati dalla spagna troppi problemi a fare campeggio libero pieno di divieti per tante cose la mia bici non andrà mai più in spagna la terra è grande

  7. It is so important that you show that this kind of journey is not only fantastic moments and smiling faces but it is also hard, cold and Full of doubts. I can almost feel your pain when is hard and share the joy when is good.

  8. I have cycled many many times 140 to 160km before I could find a spot to put up my tent because of the vegetation…in Australia…we like it or not…that is part of what we love.Putting up your tent in the dark is not nice…but yes..that is all part of the challange !!!

  9. Hello, my wife and I are loving your videos and plan to do the EV1 from Roscof down to Spain September 2023. Please could you tell us what size rack pack bags you are using, they look a little bigger than 31 litres is this correct? Kind regards Phil

  10. Well done..
Nothing hurts like being super cold while camping. Also I'm proud of you for keeping that white top so clean and looking good while on the road

  11. I will leave tomorrow morning for a wild camping bicycle tour across northern Spain.

Thank you for your great video! I'm a little bit concerned with finding wild camping spots, and potentially getting fined. I don't have much experience and watching this makes me feel a lot better 🙂
