This POV bicycle ride shows you how to ride from the old city of Porto, Portugal, to the Atlantic coast city of Matosinhos. Part one is recommended for advanced riders only because you will either need to ride unprotected in the street or on active trolley tracks.

Porto is a stunningly beautiful city, and this route along the Douro highlights it.

This video is intended to show the route and assist with identifying landmarks along the way. Sprinkled in is a little history of the region. Enjoy!

  1. Great video, Porto looks amazing! Definitely want to visit one day. How was the food?

From Chloe: I love how the little boy rides so fast!

  2. Thank you very much for the video series of Oporto. As a portuguese living in Oporto, I feel a bit ashamed for the deplorable conditions for bike riders in this particular part of the city. It is indeed one of the best pathways to do to enjoy the views and the city, but the narrow sidewalks and the poor or inexistent bike lanes clearly show the generalized tyranny of cars and how delayed we are concerning the implementation of walkability and bike-friendliness policies. Anyway, you survived and still managed to make an interesting optimistic video on top of that. 😉 Cheers!
