Everytime I say Intense you have to take a drink…

We had cycled all the way from Liliana’s home town in France Vendome, to where she was born in Romania, the coastal town of Navodari!

Reaching this milestone of bike touringmade us reflect on our adventure so far. We spend time visiting friends and family in Navodari but also took the time to drive out to the countryside to visit Liliana’s grandad, cousin and aunts. I love and hate the farm. The food, being with family and experiencing something pretty wild to me are all things I cherish, but the smells, the lack of running water, the dry toilet and the general state of the farm when we were there make it tough for me to bear. It’s still not that big a deal but I approach each visit there with a degree of trepidation.

The trip to Navodari gave us the opportunity to take the bus to Constanta then on to Bucharest, the capital of Romania. It’s a fantastic city to explore, with plenty of craft beer and very good lunch spots. Also one of my favourite buildings in the world is an absolute must see!
