A cyclist who sparked outrage when he kneed a 5-year-old girl to the ground in Belgium on Christmas Day 2020 has won a lawsuit against the child’s father for posting viral footage of the incident online, it emerged Friday.

The unidentified 63-year-old biker — who was captured on camera callously knocking little Neia into the snow on a nature path in Liege Province — won a defamation case against her dad, Patrick Mpasa, the Sun reported.

The cyclist claimed in the lawsuit that the shared footage caused him to feel threatened by angry social media users and scared to leave his home, the outlet reported.

A judge in the city of Verviers will decide in April how much to compensate him.

The jaw-dropping viral video shows the girl walking with her mother in a nature reserve before the cyclist rolls up behind them and appears to deliberately stick out his knee — knocking the child in the head and sending her toppling face-first into the snow.

    1. That judge should lose his license and should be held accountable for his poor (probably bias) judgement! Wouldn't be surprised to find out that he gives extremely light sentences to dangerous criminals!

    2. The fact that he is upset about the video being released, but not upset about his actions in assaulting a child, on Christmas Day tells you all you need to know about what kind of "man", this guy really is. By winning this lawsuit, he confirms that, this is indeed him, and therefore authorities should be charging him with assaulting a minor. They have the proof on video. How convenient for them, that this man has outed himself. Usually police have to go looking for a suspect.

    3. Ah simple case of scumbag won because of idiots interfering. Woulda been a whole other story if the guy couldn’t use public backlash as a defence

    4. ** sigh ** will it never end? This was clearly intentional. The father filming has every right to post this video and the guy who did this deserves whatever he gets.

    5. It looks to me like he didn't mean to make the girl fall, he just meant to nudge her out of the way. The mother was such an unfit mother that even after being warned of danger to her child, she didn't pull it out of the way. Any normal mother would have prevented harm to her child. The mother's the one the mindless mob should be going after. And the unfit father should have put his camera down and shouted and gestured at the mom to get the kid out of the way. He saw what was going to happen and he failed to prevent it because he was too busy filming and thinking about how his video would go viral when his kid fell down.

    6. What an utter scumbag. Deliberately kneeing the child. I hope the judge gets struck off and now the madness of suing the girl’s father. Sickening.

    7. I believe the father did the right thing posting this on social media. It serves the cyclist right to be afraid to go outside. His knee to that little girl's spine could have done a lot of damage.

    8. the knee was a deliberate assault on a minor. The father fearing for the life of the child would've been well within his rights to neutralize such a threat in other, less soft locations. I guess in Belgium they do things a little differently. In many places in the US, I doubt the cyclist would've walked away, much less enjoy corn on the cob ever again.

    9. He's claiming his back wheel slid and he put his knee out for balance. Can clearly see in the video that's not the case, he looks directly at the girl then puts his knee out. What a low life and what was that judge smoking?
