I grew up in the Peak District and love going back to back to explore the High Peak and White Peak, the areas near Castleton, Hathersage and Peak Forest. On this ride I head up the old, disused Mam Tor road then ride the incredible trails and gravel lanes of the Pennine Bridleway and the Limestone Way before descending Winnat’s pass. I think I came up with one of the best routes in the Peak District to add to my collection of favourites.

    1. I cycled up Winnats Pass on my touring bike with pannier bags (training run for OGGLE), you can always enjoy the views when cycling at a slower pace 🙂

    2. What a brilliant video jules 1 of your best you are so happy in the saddle if you cannot promote someone to go get out on there bike then nobody will 👍 Hope your dinner wasn’t too cold 😝David

    3. Castleton is a great place. The views from the top of Mam Tor are absolutely fantastic. Cycling up Winnats Pass would be my idea of hell… it's bloody steep and goes on forever! I've not cycled round there, but I've done hundreds of walks in the Peak District, including Castleton, and Winnats is awe inspiring to look at, but not to walk up. 😁 Nice video.

    4. Hiya loved the video route looks awesome. do you have this route on Strava etc or can you pinpoint where the access.gate is to the Old Mam tor road for me.please

    5. This looks awesome! I had planned a road bike ride around Winnats pass in a loop, but now you pointed out that gravel track just to the right of it, I am planning on doing that instead! I've been training so hard on the road I fancied something different. I will check this ride out on your strava profile, thanks!
