Nach einer ziemlich wilden Nacht mit Blitz und Donner, haben wir uns heute vorgenommen Skutari die Stadt liegt östlich am Skutarisee und ist eine der grössten in Albanien anzusehen. Haben beim reinfahren in die Stadt noch ein weiteren Reiseradler getroffen. Wie immer kurz ausgetauscht und danach weiter in die Stadt. Immer wen wir ein neues Land besuchen, checken wir erstmal die Preise ab, damit wir vergleichen können. In Albanien fällt sofort auf, dass es sehr viele Supermärkte gibt aber alle eigenständig sind, sprich alle heissen anders und haben ein eigenes Sortiment. Auch die Preise simd sehr unterschiedlich für das gleiche Produkt. Eine Tasse Kaffee kostet hier ca 0.70 Euro im Restaurant und ein Hamburger im Fastfood-Laden ca. 1.25 Euro. Pasta mit 500g Inhalt kostet 0.80 Euro. Wurden bereits vorinformiert, dass Albanien relativ günstig ist zu anderen Ländern. In der Stadt genehmigten wir uns dann auch einen Kaffee ohne Angst zu haben das unser Budget explodiert😉 Die wichtigste Sehenswürdigkeit in Shkodra ist die Burg Rozafa. Die Burg wurde auf einem 130 Meter Hügel errichtet, strategisch günstig, da von hier aus der Abfluss des Skutarisee über die Buna kontrolliert wurde. Ebenfalls eine Sehenswürdigkeit ist die Ebu-Bekr-Moschee, sie ist die Hauptmoschee in der Stadt.
Gegen Abend verliessen wir die Stadt wieder um mehr in das innere von Albanien zu fahren.

Day 114
After a rather wild night with lightning and thunder, we decided to explore Shkodër today. The city is located to the east of Lake Skadar and is one of the largest in Albania. As we entered the city, we met another fellow bike traveler. As usual, we exchanged a few words and then continued into the city. Whenever we visit a new country, we first check out the prices to make comparisons. In Albania, it’s immediately noticeable that there are many supermarkets, all independently owned, with different names and product selections. Prices vary quite a bit for the same product. A cup of coffee here costs around 0.70 Euros in a restaurant, and a hamburger in a fast-food place is about 1.25 Euros. A 500g pack of pasta is priced at 0.80 Euros. We had heard beforehand that Albania is relatively affordable compared to other countries. In the city, we treated ourselves to coffee without worrying about blowing our budget 😉. The main attraction in Shkodër is Rozafa Castle, perched on a 130-meter hill, strategically located to control the outflow of Lake Skadar through the Buna River. Another notable sight is the Ebu-Bekr Mosque, the main mosque in the city. In the evening, we left the city to venture further into the interior of Albania
