    1. Small correction on component sizes, here's what they claim on their website, but our Medium came with a 100mm stem which seems to be an anomaly:
Handlebar width end to end: XS, S: 400 mm
      M, L:420 mm.XL: 440mm
      Stem Length: XS, S, M: 90mm
      L, XL: 110mm

    2. So you spoke on fitment quite a bit and where i live i can not go and size these bikes in person. It states that a xs is 154cm to 165 and a small is 165 to i think 170 something. If i am 166cm could i just get the extra small and be fine?

    3. I have a triban RC500 as of right now that i use to go to work everyday, i love it !! even tho i am a beginner with bike ahahha

      The pros :
-Ride really well, grips really well even during rainy days,

-Pretty light actually for me ( around 8 kilos)
-The brakes are incredibly effective ( disk brake )
-No problem of stability on descent even at pretty high speed
      -And it's sexy AF
-the shifting mecanism is actually not the same as on the one on this video, it has been a bit improved ! the downshift is on the brakes, so instead of pulling to break you actually like .. pull it to the side … if you got it .? my english suck leave me alone…

      The Cons :
-When shifting at higher speeds it has the tendency to make the bike wiggle woggle which makes the feet comes OUT of the pedals ( idk if it's an issue or if i just suck at cycling tho)
-Changing the air Chamber is A PAIN IN THE ASS ( the tyre is freaking long INSIDE the wheel frame which make it freaking annoying to put it back on )
-And this one is more personal but i don't have enough space to put both my light AND my cellphone on the handbar 🙁 i am sad …

But overall for 750Euros i love it realy good investment i have it now for over a year and i won't leave it anytime soon it stills looks almost brand new and ride always icredible 😀

    4. I've bought a gravel-bike-inspired hybride-roadbike (Riverside 120) for the insane low price of 209 Euros (180 Pounds!) a few weeks ago. I've done some changes; better tires, upgrade to Deore 1 x 10 speed, bigger front blade and thus a new crankset. I love it. It's simple, with all the new parts it's still very cheap and it rides delightful. No complaints about the wheels, but a better saddle is the next thing to put on.

    5. "Hey everyone! 👋 I hope you're having a great day. I'm reaching out to this awesome community for some help and advice. I'm currently in the middle of my apprenticeship and I'm really eager to get into road cycling. However, my budget is quite tight right now.

I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good road bike that offers great value for money? I'm looking for something that will be reliable, durable, and suitable for a beginner like me. I know there are so many options out there, and it can be overwhelming to choose the right one without breaking the bank.

If any of you have had a positive experience with a road bike that fits a small budget, I would really appreciate your recommendations and insights. Any tips on where to find good deals or specific models to consider would be amazing!

Thank you in advance for your support! I'm excited to join the road cycling community and I'm grateful for any help you can provide. Cheers!"

    6. Great video. I've been riding the Triban RC500 Disc as my first road bike. Would be interested to know what you think about it. Main complaint is how heavy it is and I'm not a fan of mechanical discs, but otherwise it is good!

    7. As much as I love my "retro" roadbike which I probably got at a relatively similar pricepoint all things (bit of maintenance and upgrades) considered, I totally get why these Decathlon bikes are a great buy. For me a pretty steel frame with chrome chainstays and some Mavic Cxp30 rims is something I love, but objectively the Triban probably is a bit better being lighter and having more gears.
And you can just go to a store to buy it without knowing anything, while buying second hand does require a bit of know how to see if you are buying something well cared for or a future moneypit.

    8. Same bike, 550 euros in The Netherlands 😅. My first brand new bike was a Triban 100. First year it took me 8.500 km around the country to different randonneur events. It was the spark that started my passion for endurance rides.❤

    9. In Brazil this model sells with Shimano Claris components. It sells today for about U$740. Pricier, but it is good choice for begginers because everything here is more expensive. I recently bought one and loved it. Best present i gave for myself in years. ah! and here, the frame has a replaceable rear derailleur hanger o/. and it has rear and front holes for racks!!! Nice bike!

    10. I have a Van Rysel Rcx and it’s a great bike though straight away I put on a bigger cassette as it only has 1 chainring.
Being 59 I find I needed an easier climbing gear.
The stem seems very long so that will be my next change.
Overall good value compared to bikes of similar money.

    11. Made same experience with their Ski gear and Sailing clothes. Much value for money. I was looking also for a helmet with MIPS and Recco for a reasonable price. There is literally not much choise here. Then just accidentally I saw a helmet at Decathlon which was having all my requirements and was half the price of other brands.

    12. Insane value is correct. These are not half bad for a first touring bicycle. Yes you will have to add things by yourself, but that means you can choose what to add (or not). I'd replace the front chainrings for smaller ones, but that's it for replacements. They have road fenders for it, a plethora of racks and panniers.
The front rack I'd buy elsewhere, since you can get a lowrider one. And order some panniers with it.
With the size of that frame, I'd get a frame bag and move the water bottle holders to the handlebars instead.

    13. Every time I have sat on a BTWIN I found them (especialy the handelbars) uncomfortable, and I am really happy that I got myself a used 2003 Look. I would definitly recommend anyone interested in getting a cheap bike to also have a look at used and compare how they feel. For me it cost me the same, and the difference was night and day.

    14. I bought a Triban 500 some years back and ended up riding it more than 10k kilometers. It was solid. It's the bike that got me into cycling, and I recommend anyone else who is new to the sport to start there for sure. I've since upgraded beyond Triban, but I'll always enjoy the brand.

    15. I'm 6' 2" and I bought the XL. I think I should have went with the large. Was getting a sore back from riding. Eventually changed the handlebar stem to a shorter one. Think this did the trick. Also changed the saddle.

    16. I enjoyed the video, as a beginner I will buy the Triban rc 120 to start my cycling journey and through it learn a lot about the cycling world. Thank you so much for the video it was really helpful.😄

    17. Still have my US Postal Trek I bought in the US in 2001 and after crossing Canada (8000km), Scotland (2000Km), 9 Ironman and several hundred thousands more on it still going strong and most important have so much fun on it 🤟

    18. I bought a Triban 500 around 2019, by far the best bike I've ever owned. The fork is made from a carbon fiber alloy and the whole bike is super light but extremely well put together. It has an inch-perfect feel to absolutely everything, very industrial in a great way. After having an average bike from a local shop, the difference was just night and day. It was super cheap for what I got, too, like US$500. I own several of their products and the bang for buck is simply unmatched.

    19. Just ordered a Serious Gravix Comp for 900€
I think the store brands have come a long way and offer value that you wont get with established brands

    20. I have the Triban RC 500 Disc and I'm super happy with it! I'm going to start my first longer tour on it next Monday. It was 750 Euros and I can't complain about the value for money. Originally, I wanted to get one of their gravel bikes but they were completely sold out all of the time so I got a road bike after talking to one of their employees who assured me that you could theoretically put the gravel tires on the road bike.

    21. Oh! Do you really shift the rear derailer with your left hand and the front with your right? And what about the brakes? Are the brakes this way too? Jesus Christ guys, you brits do have to make everything different for the sake of difference do you? =)

    22. Decathlon is pretty impressive with some of their products, they always surprise me.

I've gotten my girlfriend a Rockrider ST 530 27,5'' for just under $400 and it has 1×9 speeds and pretty decent hydraulic breaks.

I'm pretty picky with quality / quality ratio usually and this was a steal.

    23. I like their cloths, but i stay away from their bikes. They are cheap and good for Kids. But their durability is bad, hence the cheap price
