the bicycle dealer company I worked at burned down in 2018 from a brand new BOSCH eBike accu. It's not just chinese… it's the tech.
the bike was brand new, still in the carboard box, not charging, not even unpacked.

This should also be a concern of Western countries that are pushing for the use of electric vehicles without first perfecting the technology and the availability of proper charging stations.

The Chinese model isn't it, I don't buy the Chinese century stuff. Crap products, no compelling culture or art, stealing and copying technology, little to no redeeming qualities other than decent food. The American model was and arguably still is great quality products, prolific invention, captivating culture music and art, etc. America may be on the decline in many ways but I definitely don't see China filling that vacuum.
