Today I arrived at (and very briefly swam in) Sweden’s biggest lake, Vänern.
It was a pretty good ride all in all. A bit more road based than I’d like in an ideal world but the cross country sections were great and my pitch spot by the side of the lake is amazing!
Happy to have you in Sweden! You make Sweden even better with your touring time. Impressive knowledge of Klarälven – I bet many swedes know less than you do.
I enjoyed viewing your video of this leg of your journey – thank you for sharing – and I also enjoy your brand of humor. Very funny comment about the tick/parasites. 🙂 Happy and safe travels! Cheers!
The funny things is that we "don't " have rivers in Sweden in Swedish. The "rivers" are called älvar in Sweden for Swedish "rivers ". A river outside Sweden is called flod in Swedish. And flod means river. So you were biking along an älv and not a river. But since there is no word för älv in English as far as I know you end up with talking about rivers anyway 😉.
The cookie you ate at 05.32 is not Swedish but Dutch. It is called stroopwafel. Lucky you. You who could buy them I'm a Swedish shop. I have to import them from a dutch Web shop.
Just on bing watching the playlist. I know it's old now but still good viewing. A couple of questions if you have the time. On meeting your new parasites (the ticks) how do you remove them? And how do you find all the free wooden shelters? ie at about 7 minutes in. Thanks keep up the good work.
