Slovenia is the sunny side of Alps and it has it all: big mountains, emerald rivers, wine, great food, a lovely capital, old sea villages and the Karst.
After exploring the stunning lake Bled, we started riding the old railway which is now a wonderful cycling path that connects Blad to Kranjska Gora. Once we got there we started to climb Slovenian highest pass, Vrsic (1611 mt). Later on we kept riding through the beautiful Alpine region along the winding Soča river with, unforgettable views of mountain tops all around. Once we left the mountains behind, we descended into the wine region famous for endless vineyards and great wine, where we tasted the best Slovenian treats. Then we crossed to the Karst, a topography characterized by underground drainage systems with sinkholes and caves. The last stretch of the ride took through some more vienyards all the way to the Adriatic sea where our journey ended with a drink in our hand at the seaside. In this we truly experienced all that Europe has to offer.
