In February 2019, I went cycle touring up through Spain, cycling from Seville to Bilboa. I followed some of the Via de la Plata, which is one of the Camino de Santiago routes, until I reached Zamora, when I started to head towards Bilbao. The route included gravel trails, long smooth roads, flat sections and hilly regions.

I carried all my luggage including my tent in a saddle and handlebar Topeak bikepacking bags and used my trusty Norco Search bike. The film was mostly shot on my phone, so apologies for the sometimes low quality and shaky footage!
Even though there were cold nights, cycle touring through Spain was a great adventure, with lots of amazing views and mountains. Definitely a place I want to return to!

    1. Really cool film, looks epic. I've done some touring in France and loved the freedom of being on my own. Really inspirational, never thought of acquiring a bike box from a shop to transport my kit! Genius.

    2. wow, this is so inspirational, thank you for sharing! i was thinking in doing something similar, any recommendations on the bike you used and how you managed to bring it with you and then take it back home?

    3. Brilliant film Ceri. You certainly hammer out the miles!!! I really want to ride Spain one day. Even more so now

    4. Thank you! I’ve enjoyed your video very much. I’m planning to cross Spain from Barcelona to Santiago in September hopefully won’t be too cold.

    5. Why do travel vloggers use the same old worn out camera trick, going ahead, riding past the camera and then hwving to go back for it? It got old really quick. It's so distracting and fooling no one.

    6. Hello, great video and adventure!
Do you mind telling me what tyres you were using. I'm planning a road , light bike tour which looks similar to your trip (ideally all road) so wonder what you used ?

    7. An excellent video, I am going to do a section through Spain, starting early March – as expected, fewer tourists but a little chillier.

    8. Bro, I am impressed by your stamina and determination in eating up so many miles each day. But i also can't help but think that there was something manic and rushed about the pace. You were going like a bat out of hell. Were you pressed for time?
