Car passes him use a mini excavator to flat a small path on the deep gravel, Danny uses this to get to the grocery store LaTS at the village of Valle, Latvia . Purchases a can of Pepsi and a banana , makes small talk with customers and cashier. Recycles his plastic bottle and can in the Depozita Punkts automated recycling machine, tries to give his recycling money vouchers to old man, old man refuses this act of kindness. Gets to paved highway p89 at Bārbele, Latvia and sees nice old church and cemetery in Bārbele, Latvia and heads south towards Skaistkalne , Latvia where he meets motorcycle rider and YouTuber Sergio who said his channel is @AlvesBarong , we make him my 8th subscriber! Awesome! get to the town of Skaistkalne, Latvia and cross the Nemunėlis River into Germaniškis, Lithuania. See the old Soviet border control station check point buildings from a bygone era. A few moments later pedal past a huge hay roll teddy bear in Germaniškis, Lithuania. continue southbound on Lithuania highyway 190 to Biržai, Lithuania. Stop at Maxima grocery store for a coca-cola and a 1.5 liter bottle of water, get lunch at the Kebab shop MB Biržų kebabai in Biržai, Lithuania. Awesome sweet basil tasting sauce on this huge kebab that was a big as my head. delicious. Now heading southbound on highway 124 to Vabalninkas, Lithuania. saw nice big goat velka koza along the way, thought it was an attack dog, but just a friendly goat. Checked out nice wooden carving and park and church in Vabalninkas. Got to Hotel located next to hardware store, hotel is called Meldynas, which means prayers, seems this is a really a banquet hall with rooms upstairs for people who have celebrations after getting married in the church. after much confusion finally get into the room. Rosa the owner of the hardware store who didn’t speak English, was very patient with me and help communicate with the hotel owner over the phone to get me into the hotel. they ended up giving me the keys to the side door to let myself in and out. So amazing how pleasant and trusting they were. it was a nice room good price 39 Euros. Got cleaned up then went across village square to Maxima grocery store to get my dinner, another chicken sandwich , tuc brand smoky bacon crackers, chocolate wafers, bananas, milk, coca cola, cheddar cheese. explains ultra high temperature milk and how it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. it was another long long day of bike trekking , today’s stats were 67 miles / 107 kilometers.
