This is Part 5 of my trip continuing the journey with another beautifully sunny day. Crossing from Nyborg to Halsskov on Storebælt Bridge and tunnel system – spanning 16Km, quite some construction! Came across, the soon to be expected road closure but ending the day in a pretty good campsite near Copenhagen where I spent 3 nights enabling me to explore the beautiful city using nearby public transport.

The whole journey took me through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and into Norway right the way up to Nordkapp, the furthest point you can travel by motorcycle or car in mainland Europe and then back through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France over a 7 week period late May – mid July 2023
I am back in the UK now, but please do add your comments and I’ll get back to you.

    1. Nice relaxed ride although not that interesting. As well as the pastries don’t forget the bacon, having worked in Denmark a bit I got addicted to it as it was always cooked crispy. Looking forward to Copenhagen…..the mermaid was much smaller than I’d expected!🇬🇧🇩🇰

    2. Don't you think it's about time Motorcycle Jackets had a card pocket on the sleeve , bit like Ski Jackets do. Then at a Kiosk / Toll Booth you just lift your sleeve up to the reader. Could you imagine the carnage if every skier had to disrobe to get on a ski lift. Works OK in that world.

    3. On previous European motorcycle trips I used my HSBC debit card and got stung for a transaction fee on every purchase.
This year I took a Starling Bank card which I got via an app on my iPhone.
Opening the account on the app was a doddle and the card arrived in three days.
I could transfer money from my HSBC to Starling account, free of charge, when I needed it, and Starling don’t charge foreign transaction fees.
On my recent three month trip I saved a fortune. The app is so good I’m considering dumping HSBC altogether.
Thanks for the video and I look forward to the next instalment.
      Regards warren.

    4. Another superb episode Nick and looks like you had some great weather. Cant believe the length of those bridges! That would freak me out, I get nervous riding across the Humber, especially if there's a crosswind.
Very inspirational videos you're posting up.

    5. Really enjoyed this one. The countryside is so flat and uninteresting yet lovely at the same time. Such beautiful well kept towns and villages. The one you stopped in had an interesting mix of medieval Spanish mission and Tudor England in the place next door! Odd juxtaposition. Thanks for posting.

    6. Good stuff. Regarding the paying-at-tolls kerfuffle, why not resurrect the “peg on windscreen” approach (assuming you’ve improved your technique a bit) and keep your bank card there for the whole journey… what could possibly go wrong?! 😂

    7. Hello Nick, I follow your trip with interest, nice report, but the Journey through Central Europe last year was more spontaneous. Almost live.

    8. Really enjoying these videos. I hope you will show a good chunk of Copenhagen. I am heading there again in October and going by train to Falkenberg in Sweden. Looking forward to going across the “The Bridge”.

    9. Feel your pain on the toll booths, they’re just not made for motorcycles at all. Quick tip that I found worked today is to use a smart watch to pay using contactless, don’t have to get anything out of your pockets just gloves off.

    10. Your onboard video and audio are excellent, your offboard video and audio too. Would it be cheeky of me to ask what equipment, and also software or processes you use? I'm planning a solo Morocco trip for spring next year (all on road, no off-road), and currently trying to decide whether to film the journey or not.

    11. Another great episode and I'm really looking forward to your Norway adventure as it is on our bucket list! Might not always comment, but we are watching all your videos, mainly over the TV and commenting over the TV app is kinda a pain in the back. Thought I drop you a comment as I'm just watching on the computer 😁 Save riding! – Diana
