I was on my usual route when my dumbass crashed into the back of a parked wagon. How did this happen you might ask? I forgot to check if I installed the nuts on my toe cages firmly so I looked down maybe 4-5 seconds and before I can pull my emergency brake I flipped over and ate the dirt and wood at the back of the wagon. Do note the road I was on is a wide residential road where people usually have their cars parked on their driveway and garages. Im not sure about laws but as somebody who rides I always make sure Im not on the middle of the road and stick to the bike lanes— still it was my fault. My front rim is cooked I just dont know if the frame is still good. Any advice? This is my first crash.

  1. Accidents happen, glad you’re alright. Looks like your fork is bent, and downtube/toptube are bowed.

Buy a new frame and front wheel, every thing else looks salvageable. Also put on bar tape you nut.

The rim might be ok. There’s a coop near me that’ll true the wheel for like $10. Maybe there’s a bike coop near you?

You can decide whether to go clockwise or counterclockwise. Just make sure the circle is small enough so your toes don’t hit the wheel.

  4. Well, I’m glad you’re okay enough to post about it.

    Time to go frame shopping.

What are you going to get?

Looks good to me but I don’t have a savvy eye, everyone else says the fork is bent
