I am considering getting into chain waxing for my trials bike but was just wondering if it would be a good option for me.
The chain gets replaced every 4-6months due to extra stress put on the drivetrain. And for the same reason, quick links are also not used (so taking the chain on and off regularly is not ideal). It is a single speed drive train.
I do ride in the rain but not often (few times a month). The riding is done mostly in the cityscape so mud is not really an issue.
The only real reason that I am considering chain waxing is that i hate touching oily chain.
Would chain waxing be a good option for this type of riding?

Can’t comment on waxing, but I really like tru tension’s wax based all weather lube. I mainly ride in the city, sometimes in the rain. When it rains i just wipe the chain off after a ride and add some lube. Have read abt the waxers having to do the same after rain anyway.
Also, nice rims, i love light bicycle
I ride BMX and I wax my chains on all of them!
I don’t dip them whole, just degrease and clean them good, then I put squirt wax on links and leave it over night.
After apx. 10 rides I repeat the process.
I never, ever used oil based lubes again.Â
