I’d like to upgrade the wheelset on my vintage road bike with 135mm rear dropout spacing & am not finding many options online.
Can a modern 130mm OLD rear hub be converted to 135mm by swapping out the QR axle, adding two 2.5mm spacers (or one 5mm), and re-dishing?
I’d need help from a LBS. Asking because this seems like minor surgery compared to a custom wheel build, which I can’t afford currently.
Thanks for any insight!

I have several bikes with 135mm rear spacing, and never have a problem sourcing wheels. There are options in prebuilt wheels. Here’s on option that would be great for that bike:
[Silver Heavy Duty Velocity Cliffhanger 700c Wheelset 100-135mm](https://velomine.com/products/silver-heavy-duty-velocity-cliffhanger-700c-wheelset-100-135mm?_pos=2&_psq=135mm&_ss=e&_v=1.0)
Or here’s a set:

Yes, a 5mm spacer will do the job, but a trekking bike wheelset would also work.
This is a good option for a 520

You could also have something built by Velocity.
Some wheels are rim or disc compatible so keep that in mind.
