Hey folks I know this will divide opinions but what do you think ??
Although the Azores is Amazing, it is not really comparable with Algarve, because they are totally different types of holidays. I would suggest instead to go to "Costa Vicentina" in Alentejo and visit Porto Covo and the crystal clear waters there, or go to "Arrabida" in Setubal and Troia which are amazing as well with emerald crystal clear waters. If you want just the beach and relax, you can go to Porto Santo island in Madeira. It is basically 9km of empty turquoise waters. The reason the beach is mostly empty is because of the lack of accomodation there. So yeah, if you want to go to Porto Santo, you need to book in advance. Last year I spent a whole week in Porto Santo, and it was amazing. No crowds, and in the best beach of Portugal.
US is overrated but never EU!
Firenze also pretty overrated and crowded AF
I'm going to take issue with the choice of words. None of these places are overrated. They are highly rated and that is what has made them overcrowded, at least for parts of the year. Each of them deserves to be visited but, as you say, at different times of the year. Still, I like all of your alternatives, too. Each of them are excellent in their own right and people will not be disappointed.
I'm pretty sure that at 5:59 it was Madeira instead of the Azores.
Sardinia better than all of these
Ibiza sobrevalorada? 😂😂😂😂 gran clima, mejor gastronomía del mundo, mejores discotecas del mundo, de las mejores playas de europa… Si eso es sobrevalorado 😂😂😂
Simple answer is go to all the first picks but go may or October, its that easy 😂
I didn't find Lake Bled crowded at all.
I'd recommend Bellagio in northern Italy 😁
Can’t swap Azores for Algarve or Kotor for Nice, completely different experiences.
I disagree with Porto Venere. It's crowded like Cinque Terre.
Kotor is also very crowded. Have you ever even been to the places you are recommending?
Kotor is packed with too many tourists as well.
I was just in Ibiza, it's not that crowded.
Overrated? Overcrowded yes in many cases but overcrowded places are overcrowded for a reason, they are worth visiting, don’t rule them out. And suggesting the bay of kotor as an alternative to the French Riviera? They’re completely different parts of Europe, not comparative. Love Montenegro by the way but weird comparison/alternative. And go to the Cinque Terre but also make sure to include porto veneer, all worth a visit.
I am Slovene. Bohinj is pretty full
of tourists (and Slovenes) in the summer, it’s not that easy to find a quiet spot.
Dear tourist, dont go to ibiza, dont go to Formentera either, no Barcelona, no the tipical south known for everyone. Go instead to the north of Spain, go to Galicia, Ourense, Pontevedra…go to Salamanca, go to Cantabria or Asturias, go t Huesca, etc
I definitely think Venice is overrated. It’s beautiful and culturally very rich. Don’t get me wrong. But, it’s way too busy and not worth the hype.
I did the Amalfi coast by bicycle 1st week of June and it was wonderful,
amlfi coast, positano and so on… is the best place in europe, thats why is overcrowded – its the best coastal road.. .and theres so much around that place.. 60-80 of that road, many coastal towns, not just amalfi. best hiking trail – "path of gods"… naples, etc etc
Great advice thank you
I wasn’t a big fan of Crete because of the lack of subtropical vegetation.
I am Austrian and don`t get the hype for Hallstadt at all. It is a small lake-side town like many others in the area. Gosau is no alternative for people coming for the lake view but plenty of towns along Attersee, Wolgangsee, Traunsee.
Sicily or Sardinia? Help me decide
In Greece you have 100 more options
I just wanna go!
#1: Europe
Went to Kotor as part of a road trip at the end of August. Easily the busiest place we visited during the 3300 mile, 12 country trip. The roads were gridlocked, the beach was standing room only, the entrance into the old town was a queue. Why you ask? Cruise liners, up to 3 a day, unloading thousands of daytripping cruise liner tourists into a town which can't cope with the numbers. The cruise liners dominate the sky line, as unlike Dubrovnik or Venice, these monstrosities berth right across the road from the old town. Prices in the old town (and around the whole bay to be honest) were probably the most expensive we encountered on the trip. Kotor was the epitome of overtourism.
Algarve and Azores are different kind of destinations (and your footage was from Madeira not Azores!). Algarve is typical sea and sun destination, while Azores are more outdoor/exotic destination. I would put Albanian riviera as cheap and barely discovered replacement for Algarve…
I concur with the Lake Bohinj recommendation.
I think it really depends on when you go. In July and August, yes, these places are really crowded. But I've been to Santorini and Amalfi, for instance, in shoulder season, May and September, and I didn't find them overcrowded at all.
They should rename Santorini to Instagram, Greece.

If you think "overpopulation" is a problem, start with yourself. Alternatively you can stop pushing this evil globalist ideology and just do a normal travel vid like a normal person.
8:51 I love how people try to pronounce the Spanish "Z" in Ibiza with the lisp because they want to say the word correctly, but they do it after completely ignoring the "i" that's pronounced like an English "e".
Thanks! I think it does great service to offer a variety of alternatives. The overtourist destinations also owe a responsibility
to limit the daily amount of tourists to something manageable for the infrastructure, restaurants, hotels, and even the roads and sidewalks.
That was extremely well done, you could keep offering more videos like this.
Agree, except for Taormina,
0:30 France
2:00 Greece
3:32 Italy
Got bored
Naxos is not comparable to Santorini, not even close. It does have better beaches though.
I've been to many of the "overcrowded" places(in high season), and each is spectacular. Often times, the key to enjoying these places during the Summer is to make sure you spend a couple days so you can enjoy the mornings and evenings before and after the bus and cruise ship tours invade these areas. For example Dubrovnik in Croatia(not mentioned) was unbearable during the day. Shoulder to shoulder in the streets. But we stayed within the walled city and the mornings and evenings were magical!
Another one: Instead of the Dolomites in South Tyrol (very crowded), head a little west to the Vinschgau / Val Venosta Valley.
Also in South Tyrolean with its culture, cuisine,. And in this valley quiet breathtaking mountain scenery with glaciers and high alpine meadows and in the valley there are cultural villages and a large selection of fresh fruit and regional products for the cuisine.
The region is very quiet, sometimes you are alone in the mountains
The sites supposedly crowded with people, in this video look paradisiacal. So, so shown, they're better than the alternatives.
About Porto Venere; you said it was “far less uncrowded”… but you must’ve meant far less crowded.
