rode only around 300km on the bike, however the chain is rusting already. I think its due to me forgetting to wipe down the chain after it rained. Should I get a new chain?
I did use rockandroll gold lube everytime I felt the chain needed it, I am planning to wax the chain using drip on wax, I already prepped this chain without realising the rust, should I apply the wax and just use it as is?

A light coating of lubricant will prevent that corrosion.
My favorite is Maxima Chain Wax.

Outside rust is only cosmetic, don’t worry about it. It’s the inside parts (rollers) that matter, and you will hear them long before they run any danger of rusting. If it’s too dry, it will squeak. Just make sure to wipe the chain down and lube with your lube of choice (I prefer wax personally, but oil-based is fine too).
If using oil, make sure to wipe away any excess on the outside. Outside oil will only trap dirt, and transport it into the chain. This is what wears chains and brakes them, not outside rust. The rust will disappear with further riding and somewhat regular care.

It’s always a good idea to measure the chain regularly. There are dedicated tools that shows the wear and when to replace it.
