βEben can you tell us what the initiation is for South Africa??β βNo, that stays secretβ βOhhhhβ¦. love that. Love that, Eben ππππβ
I am the big fan of mighty all blacks, but Eben is my favourite player, a true warrior, lion heart, a beast on the field a top bloke off the pitch. I hope he will end up his career being most capped springboks player.
That's why we play such boring rugby. And also why the poor tackling techniques of bigger players never seem to be an issue. Can the 80 kg guy stop a 140 kg guy, never the opposite.
Honestly I wish we'd take a page out of the Lions squad who play like a 7s team. It's extremely fun to watch, some big hitters on their side but they rely more on solid defense and solid counter attack. Sanele Nohamba is only like 70kgs and an absolute beast of a player
as a south african who used to play rugby at school we are taught to fly in to tacklesπ πi remember our primary coach training us to pass the ball using bricks if you dropped the brick you instantly regret it cause we played barefootπ π
I'm an excessively small guy who played rugby. I weighed around 45kg and only 1.6m tall at teh age of 18.. Had to play flank because we lacked people who could tackle and I was able to catch and tackle anyone who break loose from the loose scrum. Wrestling 100% helped me but still there's more technique required for tackles than brute size and strength
The NFL can learn alot from tackling like a Rugby player. Shoving a player out of bounds or simply touching him on the ground does not count as a tackle
Ruan Venter for me is definitely going to implement himself. 6ft 6, 19 odd stone. Only 21 years of age. Sometimes you look at a player and you can just tell, this guy has it! And this is coming from an Irish supporter.
Great having guys like RG Snyman taking cheap shots on players half his size , tackle on Casey great example of how the boys like to physically dominate and bully
Even C Kolbe 80kg was a hitter at EllisPark bumping 120kg Scott Barrett to land on his arse ! This is the rugby joke of the year in SA. Previously Cheslin did it to a French prop.
If you go into sports with this intention – youβve got a bloody nerve to whinge at the other end if you have ABI/HIA. You are the problem, not the sport.
In NZ that has been a prerequisite for any rugby player worth his or her salt for generations. Body on the line commitment is a standard issue in the game and it is nurtured from junior grades.

Good levels of drug use
In the old days, we just called that heart.

Kock looking like backup for bar fights & Braai stand assembly…
A lad thatβs been taken steroids since he was 12 years old

They call us thugs but our thuggery works

I genuinely thought that was Ben Affleck
This is the reason rugby will eventually fail. The long-term brain effects are being underplayed, and this mentality just has no future.
The "bomb squad" tactic is, in my opinion, destroying the game and world rugby need to bring back injury subs only.
Rugby is at a crossroads and meeds tk change.
Teams like SA needs to be placed in the bin. Its boring.

if you want to play rugby you must have no fear
Cheating is a bonus
Actually Rassie seems to lbe acting like a Mafia hit boss, this gorilla has injured and ruined other players futures on orders from Rassie.
So basically, if you're willing to commit suicide π€£
The most important thing must be : donβt be afraid of the needles !
π
Siya is 6ft1 and 106kgs βnot the biggest guy?!β Heβs a big guy πππ
So⦠Dupont.
Or maybe heβs thinking about Lowe embarrassing him (if weβre not exaggerating).
Kolbe is the perfect example of that philosophy. He tackles everything
π helps
The fact that Kolisi at 1.86 and 105kg is "not the biggest guy" really speaks volumes about the physicality of international rugby, special the Boks
South Africa's looking for players whp do cheap high shots and get away with it
Even C Kolbe 80kg was a hitter at EllisPark bumping 120kg Scott Barrett to land on his arse !

βHittersβ not HITLER π π π
Heinrich brΓΌssow was 5β9 and around 90kg when he first broke into the bok back row was was one of the best players in the world in 2009.
Outplayed McCaw in the 3 tests vs nz that year .
π
Thatβs why this rich kids donβt stand a chance to represent a nation like SA
BORAT!!!
Im Welsh,, but enjoy watching all the southern hemisphere teams play, ππππππππππ
So nice of eben to come on to this clowns podcast

SPRINGBOKS WANT HITLER'S ONLY
Although he was a flanker, Schalk Burger will always be my favourite Bokke because he did just that. Body on the line, committed!
Kolbe VS Barret π
Good to see rassie bringing back some Munster ethos to the S.A.'s
Mr Incredible π²
its crazy how from high school its what we are taught, go at him! in grade 8 we'd spar with the 1st or 2nd team!
