  1. Put a spacer between the chainring and the bottom bracket or get a smaller chainring. There are dedicated bottom bracket spacers, the most common are 5mm wide.

    Isn’t your chain in the wrong spot? Looks like it needs to back one tooth so the wide part of the link fits in between the gaps on the chain ring?

  3. You need to look at your frame spec. You either are running too large of chainring (too many teeth) or you have the incorrect chainline (spacers or chainring offset is wrong).

    looks like spacers are wrong, a smaller ring would lead to the chain rubbing on the chain stay surely?

    The offset of the chainring is to high. My guess is that you have a 6mm offset chainring. Use a chainring with 3mm or 0mm offset.
