Battle of Breitenfeld 1631 marked the emergence of Sweden as a great power and the triumph of the new Swedish flexible linear tactics over the old massive infantry formations that had long dominated European warfare.

Great video as well, had ancestors who fought in the 30 years war. Though I am unsure wether they fought at this battle, luckily atleast one of them made it back safely to Sweden.
The lion of the north!
i would love to know more about gustav
'…every round taking scores of men…' Listen to yourself. Perhaps that is the problem, you enjoy the sound of your own voice too much.
please make a video on Battle of Panipat I , as it is interesting and also one of the important battle in history
Why "March" Forward? RUN !!!!
pappenheim is kind of a bad ass
The sweetness of this chennal is next level .
Hope we listen your voice forever….!
Love and respect from Pakistan.
Sabaton sang an awesome song about Gustavous Adolphus. But of course they're Swedish. So that's no surprise. Great video.
For so long 17th century warfare was a hole in my studies. Just not enough videos on the subject so these are a treat.
Tilly was stuck reacting and never planning his moves from the very start, only grabbing at opportunities but never being given the time to judge them for himself.
Gustavus Adolphus, Libera et impera!
Acerbus et ingens, Augusta per angusta!
28:15 Ah yes, Gustav Horn, who studied modern military tactics in the Netherlands sees that his left flank is completely exposed and decides to do something about it 💀
Very detailed and informative ❤️❤️❤️
"WE SCREAMING HAKKAA PÄÄLLE WITH THIS ONE" – random finnish cavalryman
I was getting some Ney vibes from Pappenheim. Very nicely done piece on a battle from a time in history I haven't learned enough about.
Is there a way to find out who writes the Script of these videos? What makes History Marche so amazing is the well written prose in its scripts comlared to other historical edutainers.😊
All in the name of God…
*Sabaton in the background intensifies
“Breaking their lines, thousands of soldiers run for their lives, legend arise!”

Comment. Sacrifice. Algorithm
17:57 There weren't any shakos hats worn at that time, much less napoleonic style military uniforms. If you're going to put that much effort into making animations, at least bother to use the correct time period images!
.
72 year old Tilly riding around Germany conducting warfare against the 37 year old Swedish King in a age where the average lifespan was 30-35 years old in Europe, Tilly must have been a physical phenomenon, Imagine waking up in a tent in a muddy feild at that age and ride a horse all day. Its not all about tactics and firepower.
Maybe we should stop sacrificing comments to the algorithm and start sacrificing the algorithm to the people!
Raycon is too expensive
Gustavus Adolphus…Ah yes, from Age of Empires III: DE
Hereby my sacrifice to the algorithm
What a terrific video!⚔🔥🙌
I would love to see more of the 30 years war on here!❤
You could almost say Gustav is like a Caesar or napoleon. Very fast 💨 and manoeuvrable units with overwhelming firepower in the case of napoleon. But Caesar or napoleon would go for the throat and attack. Gustav seems to use his manoeuvre ability to form gun lines and blast the attack off the field. Very similar with a different way of getting the killing blow
Awesome documentary. Please Please do more Thirty Years War Battles!
