Its only on the drive side that it doesnt slip down. Can i just pry it a little?Â

Seems like it should be able to fit. I would just wiggle it a little whilst pushing it down. Maybe flip the bike around so you can push the frame onto the wheel.

Why is there a hex bolt? Have you tried removing it?

Maybe I’m wrong (if someone can confirm it, please be my guest), but isn’t it a Thru-axle wheel/hub on a quick release frame?
I just learned about that a couple of weeks ago while researching for a wheel upgrade to my bike

Initially wondered if rear endcaps made it onto the front hub and that’s why it doesn’t fit but it’s obvious it’s rear/rear.
The main thing I notice is the derailleur hanger seems to not sit flush with the dropouts so I wonder if it’s the original or a slightly off replacement. That’s what I would check but otherwise I bet you can just force the wheel in there without consequence.

If changing end caps is out of the question, i would just file down the dropouts a tad to let the wheel slide in/out a bit easier. You don’t want to be stuck with a flat somewhere and not be able to remove your wheel because it’s so snug
