  1. Kudos to Remco for speaking out, more riders should.
    1. That course was unsuitable for a TTT with so many 90 deg bends, whether in dry daylight conditions, or as it was. Particularly in city centre with such a concentration of drain covers and white lines, both of which become treacherously slippery in the wet. The organisers could have designed a safer course.
    2. TTTs should only be scheduled during daylight hours. Night time is unnecessarily dangerous. This too is within the organisers' control.
    3. It is no defence to say the weather is outside the organisers' control since addressing the above 2 points goes a long way to mitigating poor weather conditions.
Criticism towards the organisers is justified on grounds of safety. Particularly so soon after the death of the Lotto rider. Sincerest condolences to all those who feel his loss.

I wouldn't mind seeing tomorrow's stage being cancelled and the day used to review the suitability of rest of the parcours. To anyone who might object on commercial grounds, since when was money more important than riders' safety?
