Hellooo all from cold and rainy Devon, UK.
Looking for recommendations for keeping the bottom half warm and/or dry during the winter. It doesn't drop below 0'C very often so not anything too insulated. Also, I'm a sweaty beast so it'll need to be super breathable… That means NO plastic over-trousers.
Should I go for something technical and waterproof, or thermal and quick-drying? Recommendations please under £100 if possible. 😎

For temperature below freezing I just wear jeans and thin thermals underneath. Anything waterproof is not breathable enough for me. Unfortunately I haven’t figured out what to do for cold rainy days
I normally wear thermals underneath Patagonia joggers… perfect amount of wind resistance while remaining semi-breathable.
These are amazing (at least the pairs I bought a few years ago)

They have tapered legs with zippers at the bottom to keep the cuffs out of the chain.
On rainy days, I’ll often bike in leggings and just get soaked. I’m moving fast enough that I don’t get too cold, and then I put on proper pants (trousers, not underwear, I’m American) at work.
In really cold weather or for long commutes, that approach might not be feasible. But for my 20 minute commute, it’s fine.
Wool lined pants have been a godsend. Along with wool socks.
