Hey guys
I’m based in nyc and need to get some overshoes this winter season. I’ve tried the maap neoprene ones here and they are my favorite. Nice and low profile and really good fabric. https://maap.cc/us/products/maap-deep-winter-neo-overshoe-black
I know black makes senses when it’s raining and really dirty. But I wanted to get white ones for clear days just cold
Does anyone sell that?
I found the spatzwear alpecine version here and they are cool. But I think more for aero racing and not for cold ? Has anyone gotten them and tried in cold weather?

Words of advice: overshoes are a waste. I tried like 5 different brands and they all fell apart after a few weeks of riding, looked dirty and are a pain in the ass to put on.
Invest in a pair of winter cycling boots. Game changer in dirty NYC winter mucky mess.
I’ve had a pair of Fizik Ártica R5 for a few seasons now and they’re toasty warm, waterproof and still good as new 🍻
Those look like they are designed for a very special summer crit. If you want to look fly in the dry, sure, but no way are they useful in the winter, either thermally or looks wise, they will be covered in filth in seconds.
One winter ride will ruin the white colour. I prefer overshoes over winter boots (YMMV, as it’s personal).
Incidentally, I see Q36.5 has an interesting new range of winter overshoes:

Lol
Those look like they are for aero gains vs warmth.
If you are in NYC, then it does get quite cold. I find when I gets below -5C, proper winter boots are much better.
But if you want to get warmer with overshoes, thick kitchen foil or emergency blanket material over your socks make a massive difference in keeping your toes warm.
Just don’t use thin foil ask that will turn to fine particles by the end of the ride.
Maybe check out Sockeloen! Their model 612 at least states that it is wind- and waterproof.

Also thinking about getting them but the price seems to be ridiculous imo …
Those would last about 5 seconds during a rainy Seattle ride in November.
Winter needs different footwear. Those work in some situations. If you’re going for aerodynamics, there’s your ticket. If not, get a set of winter shoes if you can.
All my road shoes are white. For autumn and summer, I’ll go with the aero shoes with above style. If you live in a rainy climate or place, I use my Terra Artica GTX (one of the best investments you can make don’tneedti be the same).
You just need to switch your pedals and ensure your saddle height matches the pedal change. It saves your expensive road shoes from all the mud or heavy rain you can encounter.
Having the right gear saves you time, money and lots of frustration that you really don’t want.
I wear white oversocks from Defeet for the cold dry days. If a surprise shower does come thru, just pop em in the wash and they’re white as new again. Of course a darker color would be more sensible, but the white just hits different.
Black is the new Black 👍
I have a pair of the Spatz in white and a pair in black. They are fantastic. The white ones are surprisingly resistant to dirt and clean well. I wore mine in the Dolomites in Sept. It was unseasonably cold (below 0°c at the top of the climbs) and these kept my feet plenty warm enough with summer shoes and socks. They handled two wet days and plenty of road grime. I wore the white ones every day.
It’s currently 8°c where I live in the UK. Wore the black ones today and my feet were warm. In colder weather I will wear these beneath chunkier overshoes, or over the top of over socks.
They’re also good in the summer if you want the aero benefit. I’m very impressed.
I kinda think that these would look awesomely tan after three months of salt & sand.
Reminds me of the yzy pods.
Ykywbike on aliexpress has some great neoprene toe covers that go right up past the second boa. I bought them for this exact situation – cold but dry days
Never understood the purpose of these. Surely they aren’t water repellant, don’t look particularly warming and sure won’t protect precious white shoes beneath.
This time of year I wear neoprene overshoes for protection from all the elements
Here is another option to consider, I’m on season two with them and they have been quite good.
