Can someone give me their thoughts on this one? Found it for 1200 and seems like a great deal, but I know it's discontinued. Is the model worth it? Would repairs on it be tricky?
Are you planning on doing a tri or tt? What repairs does it need? A link to the actual sales listing would be better than the the Trek page.

Go for it! I bought a used Speed Concept (with Zipp 404’s) a little over a year ago and really enjoy riding it. You gain an extra 2-3 mph just by being in the dropped position (aero) as you are out of the wind resistance you would normally experience in the upright position. It’s a great aero bike and you don’t need to be doing triathlons or TT’s to enjoy it. As far as repairs, they are not to much different from regular road bikes. The cables are just routed through the frame and it’s manageable to remove/replace cables if needed. But honestly you probably won’t need to do much other than maybe a tune up (if that even) after buying it. Just keep in mind that most road bike groups usually discourage aero bikes from riding with them. But that’s okay as you will be able to cruise around at a pretty good pace solo. Trek produces a quality product but you still might want to invest in a decent aero carbon fiber wheel-set to match. Then, ride it like you stole it 😝
