Cycling “Le Tour de Bourgogne” in 6 days – Completing the Journey and Returning Full Circle!

In May 2024 I cycled the “Tour de Bourgogne a Velo” in the Burgundy region of France.
A very pleasant ride and perfect for people who want to avoid the “hassle” of the transportation of bicycle and cyclist back to the starting point of a tour.
This tour is an ideal choice for anyone planning their first extended bicycle tour or bike-packing adventure.”

I stayed in hotels for 2 nights and camped for 3 nights.

Highlights:
* Cycling infrastructure
* Availability of eating / sleeping / shopping options
* Mostly easy cycling, a bit more strenuous in the stretch from Dijon to Paray le Monial
* Beautiful gentle scenery, specially in the wine region after Baune.

This sixth and last video of the trip is about the stretch I rode from Merry sur Yonne all the way back to the point where I started 6 days ago in Brienon sur Armancon. We complete the stretch along the Canal du Nivernais and join up again with the Canal de Bourgogne. Also a short visit to the town of Auxerre is included. A relaxed final etappe of a great bicycle tour in the Burgundy region.

Total ride today was 73km long, with only 140m of elevation.

Enjoy the video!!

  1. Ja leuk, heb er nu echt zin in. Ben benieuwd naar je volgende avontuur. Mooi plekje voor langer parkeren en starten en eindigen? Ging dat goed?

  2. Thank you for this nice impression of your journey through beautiful France. Did you also do a bike tour in the summer? BTW volgens mij was het Muskie de muskrat, niet Ed of Willem. Houdoe.
