Some description about Nerduino:

Born in Lowestoft, UK. Undergraduate degree in Engineering and Business Studies from University of Cambridge (Corpus Christi College). Worked in finance for a US Investment Bank for 5 years after graduating, the last 2 years were spent in the Tokyo office. Went back to school at the University of Illinois and got Masters and PhD in Astronomy, graduating in 2005.
PhD research was focused on the Cosmic Microwave Background, specifically removing foreground contamination from CMB data.

Post PhD I won an NRC research fellowship and took a postdoc at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory working on ESA’s Planck CMB mission. After postdoc I ended up joining NASA as an employee. When Planck wound down I worked on a range of different projects including some instrument testing and development work for SMAP, a lunar radio telescope concept mission called DARE and a ton of other hardware projects.

I left JPL in 2015 to be a stay-at-home Dad to our now 11 year old daughter. My wife is a veterinarian and we live on the Northern edge of Los Angeles right up against the mountains. Started streaming science about 2.5 years ago and have been loving it. Other than science, astronomy and photography I love cycling and spending time at the ocean surfing, sailing and hanging out.
