The Frans Halsbuurt in Amsterdam is a neighbourhood in De Pijp which has had almost all street parking removed (only spots for disabled parking and temporary loading still exist). This happened in 2018, but now the city is doing a proper upgrade to make these changes permanent.
I suggested something similiar in a nearby old town. The "down town" is like no more than 2 or 3 blocks. They got no off street parking. The thought of them walking from a parking lot to their homes was to much. The town has beautiful features… But its full of fat tard muffins.
When there's Amsterdam, there's Taiwan. Amsterdam builds car roads when there's extra space, here we build sidewalk if there's extra space after building car roads
When I see this tears come to my eyes. I have a wonderful bike however the car and truck drivers in my city are so aggressive. They would rather hit you and blame you for being in their space.
An upgrade to the underground infrastructure at the same time. In the UK I have lost count the number of times I have said "digging that up again, it was only just dug up x months/years ago!" I suppose that's the difference when you have a government that's not obsessed with everything being run by the free-market. Work can be co-ordinated.
Have you checked in to the Bike replacement bus service over the Afsluitdijk? Because there is construction, apparently bikes are now transported over the dike by bus.

I like stories with a happy ending 😊
I wish the US wasn’t so dumb, I want cities like this but I don’t want to travel halfway to a whole different continent for this
But they are ruining rest of the world with Royal Dutch Shell…do a video on that.
FYI…Shell is not a British company. They have the most complicated company structure in the Universe.
I'm so jealous I wish Brussels was more like this but it takes decades of good infrastructure. Also the city is not flat. I can't bike everywhere.

The sad thing is that the 'before' version is nicer than any street in the entire USA…
So… what's the immigration process for Amsterdam? 😅
And then we have the Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari saying he wants Indian roads to be on par with American roads. XD
Tax dollars at work
The Dutch are doing amazing things.
Poor cars😢
Great to see disabled parking provided alongside making this a much better street for walking and cycling
Still way too little vegetalization to adapt the city to climate change. The concrete must go.
2 words = throwing axeman 😂
Why is there still a motor vehicle? Also why not do a proper transition upfront when it costs almost twice as much?

I was in Amsterdam yesterday. It was overcrowded…
But I guess that's better than traffic jams.

Truly a thing of beauty.

This is what's called a "Šetalište" or walkway in Croatia, these should be much more common.
I would also like indian cities be more walkable instead of car dependent.
moving to Amsterdam
I love that they kept some parking spaces reserved for people with a disability!
In Eindhoven lots of streets are already like that 😁
